I'll stamp all over 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted British rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters engaged in the customary face-off, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is actually happening.
